Varna
The city of Varna is not only an important industrial, economic and cultural center of Bulgaria, but also its tourist capital. Varna is the third most populous city in the country, with more than 350 thousand inhabitants.
It is an important industrial, economic, cultural and tourist center of the country. The city is spread along the Varna Bay and is divided by one of the largest engineering constructions on the Balkan Peninsula – “Asparuhov Bridge”. The bridge spans over an artificial canal linking the sea with Lake Varna. The bridge offers a unique view of the city, the Varna Seaport and the Shipyard. The height of the bridge in its highest part reaches 50 meters.
Varna is one of the oldest cities in Europe. In the 6th century BC, attracted by the extraordinary tranquility of the Black Sea in this region, Greek navigators from Miletus sailed to the shores of the land of the Thracians and after long wars founded their colony. At that time, pro-Bulgarian hordes arriving from the north defeated the army of the Byzantine Emperor Constantine IV Pogonatus at the mouth of the Danube River and forced him to ask for peace. The peace treaty was signed here. In ancient times, the city was known as Odessos. Several cultural layers are layered on this place – Antiquity, Middle Ages, National Revival and modern times. It is no coincidence that the oldest gold treasure on the planet (IV millennium BC) was found here on the outskirts of Varna during the excavations of the Varna necropolis, which is exhibited in the Varna Archaeological Museum. The history does not really know such a monument, created by a mysterious people who lived on this land long before the Thracians. The discovery of the Varna necropolis forced historians to rethink radically their ideas about the development of world civilization.
During the Russian-Turkish wars of the 18th and 19th centuries, Varna was of strategic importance. Varna, which had an important strategic importance as a port and fortress, covering the shortest route to Constantinople, was repeatedly besieged by Russian troops (in 1773, 1810, 1828); the siege of 1828 was especially heavy, which ended with the capture of the city.
Now an economic, cultural and administrative center, Varna is one of the most dynamically developing cities in Bulgaria. Varna has a modern international airport, the largest seaport in the country, a yacht marina, a railway station, busy highways and roads make travelling to Varna quick, easy and convenient. Varna is one of the most important transport hubs in South-Eastern Europe. Sea ferries to Georgia, Ukraine, Turkey and other countries depart from here.
Varna competes with such big cities as Sofia and Plovdiv not only because of its special status as a sea resort, but also in the field of cultural life, rich and diverse. The city is famous for its historical architectural monuments, museums and art galleries.
It is also impossible not to tell about Varna’s nightlife: the beach disco complex, consisting of 10 clubs with different music and a huge number of cafes and bars. There are also many disco bars, shops, shops, cafes and restaurants in the center of Varna.
A walk around the city and its sights is a good place to start from Independence Square, where the Opera House stands. The resort town of Obzor is located on the Bulgarian coast about midway between Burgas and Varna.
The resort of Sunny Beach is 40 kilometers away. Covered with greenery, Obzor stretches along the coast in a very picturesque area. Once this city was the cultural center of ancient Greece. The Greeks called this city Heliopolis (translated from Greek as “Sun City”, “City of the Sun”). Later Heliopolis fell into the Roman Empire. The Romans organized the city well – many architectural structures such as libraries, schools, military barracks and fortresses, various temples and many other buildings were built here. In those days it was a busy city, in other words, a metropolis.
All this care of the Romans was due to the fact that this city occupied a very important strategic position – it stood on an important trade route, through which trade was carried out between Western Rome and Eastern Constantinople. Well, and then the Ottoman Empire was formed, and Bulgaria was conquered by this state. Bulgaria was a part of the Turkish state for several centuries, until the Russian Empire, in the middle of the XIX century, freed the Christians of the Balkans from the Muslim yoke. After this momentous event, the city of Obzor became part of the Bulgarian state.
The Obzor resort is located in a picturesque place. It is not for nothing that all Greek and Roman artists, writers and poets came and settled here. The Obzor resort itself is located in the town of the same name. Its population does not exceed 2 thousand people. The town itself is compactly located between the mouth of the river Dvoinitsa in the south, at the foot of the Eastern Balkan Mountains in the east and the bay of Nessebar in the north.

Морской город, расположенный в 2 км от берега Черного моря. Он находится в 10 км севернее Балчика и в около 60 км севернее Варны.

Балчик
Город Балчик расположен в северной части Болгарии в 40 км от города Варна и в 70 км от государства Румыния.
Основной достопримечательностью города является знаменитый ботанический сад, известный своей коллекцией кактусов и алоэ, насчитывающей более 250 видов. Балчик – это пышная зелень и амфитеатрально расположенные дома, белые скалы и синее море.
Балчик – один из древнейших городов на болгарском побережье Черного моря, расположенный в 7 км к северу от Албены. Он был основан более 2-х с половиной тысяч лет назад как греческая колония и лучил название Крунон (город родников) из-за карстовых родников на западе. В течении II века Крунон переименован в Дионисополис в честь Дионисоса – бога и покровителя вина и веселья. Еще с античных времен город развивается как торговый центр. Во время греческого владычества там высекаются серебряные и золотые монеты. Позже, во время владычества римлян, город становится военной базой.
Сегодняшнее его имя Балчик происходит от имени боярина Балика, который владел областью в течении 14 века. После освобождения от турецкого ига в 1878 году, город становится болгарским до 1913 года, когда переходит в Румынские владения. В 1940 году опять присоединяется к Болгарии.
Город расположен уступами на фоне живописных белых прибрежных скал. Балчик известен археологическими памятниками времен античности и высоким качеством выращиваемых здесь местных сортов винограда. Исключительно красивый вид со стороны моря на город заставил когда-то великого Овидия воскликнуть: Приветствую тебя о, белокаменный город, с твоей неповторимой красотой.
“Белый город” – очаровывает своей белизной и амфитеатральной структуры. В 1931 году XX в. красота этого города пленила румынскую королеву Марию и здесь она построила свою летнюю резиденцию. Здание имеет три этажа, над которыми возвышается минарет. Полу европейский – полуориенталистский стиль отражает религиозные взгляды королевы, которая стремилась к сближению христианской и мусульманской веры.
Территория дворца расположена на двух уровнях. В верхней части, находящейся на покрытом зеленью скалистом возвышении устроен Ботанический сад, в котором можно увидеть более 600 видов редких растений со всего мира. Особенно впечатляет коллекция кактусов, которые смотрятся чрезвычайно выразительно на фоне в целом южно-европейского ландшафта. В парке множество выложенных белым камнем тропинок, которые раньше покрывались коврами.
Прибрежная полоса курорта представляет собой одну из наиболее ценных минералогических зон Болгарии. Минеральные источники почти такой же символ страны, как и роза. Превосходная комбинация морского климата и минеральных ванн, десятки гидротермических источников и лиманные лечебные грязи обогащают гамму оздоровительных возможностей.
Туристы и особенно ценители исторического наследства и культуры предпочитают Балчик из-за его оригинальной архитектуры и неповторимого рельефа. Каждый год несколько сот туристов посещают Балчик и архитектурный комплекс “Дворец”, причем за последние годы сильно увеличились возможности для приятного и интересного отдыха.

Кранево
Кранево – небольшой курортный поселок, расположенный на берегу красивой песчаной бухты Черного моря, в 25 км от г. Варна, между курортами Золотые пески и Албена.
Древняя история этих мест насчитывает несколько веков. Большинство исторических сведений просто не сохранилось, остались лишь руины древнеримской цитадели Катридзи/Кастрици, используемой для защиты от нападений во времена Средневековья. Она располагалась на южном плато, которое возвышается над курортом. Упоминания о находящемся в этих местах порте обнаруживаются и в древних записках венецианских торговцев, датируемых 1311-1321 г.г. А в середине прошлого века на краю Кранево археологами была найдена древняя керамическая мастерская.
Сегодня Кранево, насчитывающее около 20 крупных гостиниц и множество небольших семейных отелей возводит свою инфраструктуру, целиком ориентируясь на семейный отдых и молодежь. В пользу этого говорят невысокие цены на проживание и питание – в среднем в 2 раза ниже, чем в международных соседних курортах.
Проживая в Кранево, можно отправиться на прогулку в природный заповедник «Балтата» или поехать развлекаться на аттракционах и в аквапарке в прилегающие вплотную к Кранево Золотые пески. Бяла
Город Бяла находится на своеобразной границе между Северным и Южным Черноморьем, располагаясь в 50 км от г. Варна и в 80 км от г. Бургас.

Бяла считается курортом, который естественным образом лечит заболевания дыхательных путей, астму, улучшает состояние аллергиков т.к. ветер в Бяла преимущественно морской, а в воздухе очень низкое содержание пыльцы и других аллергенов. В регионе никогда не было ни одного промышленного производства.
Для побережья этого региона характерны скалистые берега с небольшими бухтами, пляжная полоса с дюнами. Берег здесь крутой и расчленяется, что приводит к ограничению пляжной полосы, но с другой стороны, придает особое очарование курорту. Большая часть пляжей с восточным, северо- и юго-восточным расположением, что позволяет наилучшим образом наслаждаться солнечными лучами.
Морское дно пологое, за 10 м плавно спускается до глубины 70 см и далее также плавно становится глубже – до 2х метров на расстояние около 200 м от берега. В летнее время на пляже работает спасательная служба красного креста. За чистотой пляжа очень внимательно следит муниципалитет.
В городе работают отели и базы отдыха, предлагающие уютную атмосферу, комфортный отдых и хорошее качество обслуживания гостям города, и все это за небольшую плату.
Город Бяла уникален и тем, что здесь были открыты следы гигантского катаклизма, уничтожившего, по мнению европейских ученых, эру динозавров. Расположенные на окраине города белые скалы представляют собой геологический природный музей, в котором можно проследить все периоды развития земной коры.
А еще Бяла – это город, известный традициями выращивания винограда и винопроизводства, в том числе, потрясающего вина Димят. В городе имеется и дегустационный зал.
Кроме того, на курорте есть достаточное количество магазинов, несколько рыбных ресторанов, различные кафе, а также рынок с низкими ценами на овощи и фрукты.
