Bulgaria will be able to switch to the single European currency in January 2026. On July 8, EU finance ministers signed the necessary legal acts in Brussels. By doing so, the EU gave final approval for Bulgaria’s admission to the eurozone, and it will become the 21st country in the single currency area.
From January 1, Bulgaria will replace the national currency lev with the euro The exchange rate is set at 1.95583 leva per 1 euro.
