The Bulgarian resort of Sunny Beach has been recognized in the prestigious ranking of the 100 best beaches in the world. This ranking is based on the votes of tourism influencers and travel experts who identified the most attractive beaches for the Golden Beach 2024 award.
A record number of beaches, 23, are distinguished by the Blue Flag quality label on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast, said Kiril Spasov from the Association of Sea Beach Concessionaires. He added that the beaches are ready to welcome tourists from June 1 and meet all regulatory requirements. “Immediately after the end of winter, the concessionaires restored the beaches damaged by rough seas, where it was necessary,” assured Kiril Spasov.
Access to the beaches for people with physical disabilities and the possibility for them to reach the water with a specialized mobile deck chair with swimming ability is provided in all places with the Blue Flag category. The remaining concessionaires will be required to use the facilities from next summer.
Lifeguards on the beaches will be from 8.00 to 18.00 h, also supplemented Spasov.
